There are separate rooms for each of the different age groups, allowing for us to cater for the individual needs of the children.
Each area of the nursery is run by a Senior Nursery Nurse/Room Leader. Barney Lodge constantly strives to adhere to the latest guidelines from Ofsted and staff are all DBS checked, Safeguarding trained, first aid qualified and regularly attend courses and workshops to aid their own professional standards and qualifications. We also have a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), a Safeguarding Lead and a Behavioural Lead.
We are inspected by Ofsted and you can find our Ofsted report on their website - www.ofsted.gov.uk or view here:- EY310782 Barney Lodge Day Nursery insepction report.pdf.
From the term following your child’s 3rd birthday, we are able to offer free entitlement sessions. Funded sessions can also be offered to qualifying two year olds Better-2gether-early-years-funding (3) (1).pdf.
Please contact us for further information regarding this.
As a childcare provider, it is our moral duty of care to ensure children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. Any concerns or incidents of suspected abuse or harm are reported to our Safeguarding Lead, who will then report to the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board/Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.
We are involved with ENCOMPASS, which is a partnership with Wiltshire Police, who inform us of any domestic abuse incidents where a child has been affected by domestic abuse.
The nursery prides itself on providing a healthy diet through a variety of meals. Our meals are prepared on site by our trained cook and staff. All staff who deal with food hold a Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety & Hygiene.
Barney Lodge receives an annual inspection from Environmental Health. Following our last inspection we were awarded five stars for food hygiene. The nursery prides itself on the highest dietary standards and selection of meals and we have been awarded the Eat Out Start Well
