2 Years and under

The Bumblebee and Caterpillar Room staff follow a basic daily routine, however this is very flexible to fit in with the interest of the children and their individual needs.

The children have free choice through a variety of different areas in which they can explore and play, and also adult led activities throughout the day.

Each child has a key person who will build a strong bond with your child.  They will keep a record of your child's daily routine, plan activities, carry out observations and produce a learning journey throughout their nursery experience.

Parents/carers are encouraged to work with the staff and share experiences of their child through eyLog.  Diaries of your child's day are also completed on the eyLog.

Pre-School Rooms

Pre-School Rooms Pre-School Rooms
In our Pre-School rooms adult-led, structured activities are completed daily.  These incorporate a variety of different areas of the EYFS.  Through these structured activities and play, these foundations will prepare your child for full time primary education.

We carry out Phase 1 of Letters and Sounds, which concentrates on developing children's speaking and listening skills.

Each child is able to develop at his or her own pace through their learning experiences at nursery, whether this is learning inside or out in our garden.

EYFS

EYFS EYFS EYFS

As an early years provision, we are required to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage.  This is a structure of learning, development and care for children from birth to 5 years of age.  It enables all children to learn through a range of activities and play.  The EYFS is organised into prime and specific areas.  Prime areas are fundamental, work together and move through, to support development in all other areas.

Specific areas include essential skills and knowledge for children to participate successfully in society.

The seven areas of the EYFS are:-

Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Physical Development
Communication and Language
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding The World
Expressive Arts and Design
